Rampage IV extreme, windows 8.1 issue

Hey, just a heads up.
The last windows 8 update will screw up any raid arrays your booting from.
It will cause an AE error code pn your board, legacy device failure.
I fixed it by rolling back my bios and reflashing the newest build 4503, don't forget to reset your sata setting to raid.

ya but I'd hate to have to redownload all the crap from origin and steam again, but my windows 7 disks are sitting here ready, stupid sticks (rural dsl) no fiber anywhere 2gb download speeds max average less and the had to run 4 phone lines to my house for that all copper.

You don't have to.

You can go into a place at the windows 7 installler to access your folders and files  if they still are in one piece. Then you should be able to copy and paste them elsewhere, like an external HDD. After you do that, install windows 7 and move them back to your harddrives.
