Battlefield 4 Beta on Tuesday!
This upcoming Tuesday (October 1st), EA/DICE will give us a glimpse of their newest installment Battlefield 4. What we know so far is that the beta will include the 64 player map ‘Siege of Shanghai.’ Over the past few months we have become familiar with this map through a number of trailers, in-game footage, and, if you were lucky, test demos at expos. Siege of Shanghai includes many of the new features including the all new advanced naval combat with a number of new sea units. It also includes one of the most impressive pieces of their new feature “levolution.” In this map players are able to take down a massive skyscraper to drastically alter the battlefield, which has been awe inspiring to watch in trailers and demos . Besides that, there are a number of other trigger events that EA/DICE have shown which are on a smaller scale including car alarms and store front shutter gates. I expect that during the beta everyone will be testing and prodding the environment to see and feel everything that is available to us before we really begin to see everyone dig in and fight the good fight.
The preload for the beta is expected to be available Sunday September 29th at 10AM PDT. The beta is available October 1st to those with Battlefield 3 Premium, those who reserved Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition, and/or owners of Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition. An open Beta opens October 4th for everyone else.
